Changes to agency regulations

The new Agency Regulations will come into force on 1st October 2011 and the new regulations will change the way in which agency staff are engaged and treated.

The Regulations will give agency workers a right to the same basic working and employment conditions as would have applied had they been hired direct. This will cover many aspects of pay, paid holiday, working hours, overtime, maternity and anti-discrimination provisions. It has been agreed there should be a 12 week qualifying period before the agency worker is entitled to equal treatment.
